Faith in Communities

The nation’s recovery strategy from the Covid pandemic increases both the urgency and opportunity to establish more effective and impactful partnerships between the government and our faith communities. The Stepping Up Stepping Out report was launched with the Bishop of London and Lord Greenhalgh (Minister for Faith in the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government) in June 2021 and outlines the current and future plans of faith groups working with vulnerable communities. The report makes a series of recommendations as to how the government can more effectively harness and amplify the impact of faith-based organisations supporting vulnerable groups through the provision of services such as mental well-being, employment and debt advice.
